Photo of the Month

This is a weird but interesting Venus Flytrap Clone named Fused Tooth. I'm growing quite a few this year (2009) and will have some nice ones for sale next year. More photos appear in the Photos link in the right sidebox, or simply click HERE.

I grow and sell clones of several outstanding cultivars (plants of a particular variety) of Venus Flytraps. They are typically large for their age, with deep well-developed roots, and are all healthy and vigorous before I consider them ready to sell and ship.

Insulating Foam Planters

In addition to plants, I offer a few supplies for sale that are difficult or impossible to find locally or on the Internet for a reasonable price, including polyurethane foam planters in smaller sizes. These planters insulate plants' roots and keep the planting medium from overheating. Container grown plants of any kind can suffer or even die when planted in traditional containers that are exposed to direct sun, especially the intense sun of higher altitudes or in places where the skies often have few or no clouds, such as the high (4,000 ft.) arid eastern plains of New Mexico, US, where I live. I highly recommend these pots for Venus Flytraps and other sun-loving plants.

About the Flytrap Ranch

I bought my first Venus Flytrap as a child in 1960 and killed it from lack of knowledge and experience. I have learned a lot since then, and with the Internet it is now easier than ever for anyone to learn exactly how to care for and enjoy these great little plants. I enjoy sharing my love for and enthusiasm about these little monster-plants, as well as providing some nice, well-grown, healthy and robust Venus Flytraps to others. —Steve

Note: I do not grow nor sell Venus Flytraps that have been collected from the wild, and I strongly encourage others to obtain plants only from well-respected sources where Venus Flytraps and other carnivorous plants have been propagated only from cultivated stock or from tissue culture. Please check with carnivorous plant enthusiasts' groups and forums on the Internet for known and well-respected sources.
